Project Description:

Vietnam Military History Museum is not just a simple box showcasing the history of wars. It’s a place where people can learn about and experience the Vietnamese military’s efforts for independence and peace. Colonnade columns, are located along a 150-meter-long circular arc, making them an important design element.

Judges Comments

This museum is a place where people can learn about and experience the Vietnamese military efforts for independence and peace. The reinforced concrete structure is designed with a huge roof that forms a semi-outdoor space to create a wide-open area and invite people inside. Colonnade columns, 25m high, are located along a 150-meter-long circular arc at the front of the building. The result is a place where the indoors and outdoors connect, making it a familiar space for local people who are used to living outdoors or semi-outdoors.
