Tan House Footbridge Project Description: The 53m long, three span bridge structure embraced the use of repurposed steel as the centre point of the design process. At the time of writing, it is believed to be the lowest embodied energy footbridge Network Rail have constructed on a live site. Judges Comments Tan House Footbridge in southeast England is a low embodied carbon pedestrian bridge using 29% repurposed steel. Spanning 53m over rail tracks with three unequal spans, it features a steel half-through structure with fanning struts and perforated stainless-steel parapets.
