Project Description:

The Yibin Yiyun Digital Art Centre is located in the High-Speed Rail New District of Yibin, China, with a total floor area of 9,416.90m² with a building height of 22.0m. It accommodates digital art exhibitions, multimedia interactive experiences anoranorganisationandscape The project is thoughtfully integrated with the existing hillside terrain organisationandscape, establishing a coherent relationship between architectural form, spatial organisationructural system and environmental response.

Judges Comments

Yibin Yiyun Digital Art Centre integrates regional heritage with novel design, introducing a steel gridshell and concrete core of curved box-section steel members, a radial fish-belly transfer truss, and a floating “room-within-a-room” lecture-theatre. Variable-depth semi-rigid composite beams create column-free, naturally ventilated spaces, reducing carbon as well as material and energy use.
