Xiong'an Sports Centre Stadium, China Project Description: Xiong’an Sports Center, inspired by the design concept “Mountains, Water & Seal,” blends square and circle geometry with Eastern aesthetics. Its three main buildings resemble a “Chinese seal” engraved on the city canvas, showcasing a fusion of East and West, ancient and modern architecture. Covering a total area of 350,000 m2, it includes three Class-A venues: stadium, gymnasium, and swimming center. The stadium spans 97,684 m2 with 30,000 seats, capable of hosting both international and domestic events. Judges Comments Inspired by the "Mountains, Water and Sea" concept, the 350,000 square metre Xiong’an Sports Centre fuses eastern aesthetics with modern geometry. It features China’s first large-span horizontal split-cable aluminium alloy cable-supported structure, integrating a 30,000 seat stadium, gymnasium and swimming centre into a masterpiece of structural innovation and cultural heritage.
