Hybrid Seminar in collaboration with IABSE National Groups

On 28 November 2025, at the headquarters of the Asociacion Argentina de Carreteras, Argentina; a Bridges Seminar was organised jointly by the IABSE National Groups of Argentina, Chile, Switzerland, Uruguay and the USA. The attendance, both face-to-face and virtual, was a success, with 90 professionals participating online and onsite.

Speakers were Kristian Schellenberg (Chair, Swiss NG, in photo below), Jose Luis Seguel Ramirez, Maria Grazia Bruschi (Chair, US NG), Martín Ihlenfeld, Guzmán Castiglioni Brovetto, and Martín Eduardo Polimeni (Chair, Argentinian NG). IABSE’s President Harshavardhan Subbarao gave a motivating introduction to the association to the participants and congratulated all participating National Groups during his speech. During the seminar, various topics related to the structural engineering of bridges were addressed, such as the design of large-span bridges, BIM, asset management, construction methodologies, large numbers in pre-sizing, seismic actions, diagnosis and retrofitting, Fracture Mechanics, etc.

The sponsors for the event were Aquila (Gianni Moor), TIS Technological Isolation Systems (Camila Coria), and Itekube (Julien Ulrich) and the institutional supporters were, Consejo Profesional de Ingeniería Civil and AIE - Asociación de Ingenieros Estructurales and on behalf of its president, Emma Albrieu, the AAC.

Webinar organised in April.

Webinar organised by the Argentinian Group of IABSE:

On 30th of September the Webinar was conducted with over 80 attendees successfully. The webinar was supported by the most important companies and institutions related to engineering and construction in Argentina. The Speakers were Engs. Laurent Agostini and Dominique Deschamps, who spoke about the Atlantic Bridge, 3rd bridge over the Panamá Channel. Feedback received from participants was very positive.
