Individuals and companies/institutions may become Members of IABSE.

For the purpose of determining membership fees, IABSE recognises two country categories: A and B. In the economically favoured A-countries, the full fee applies. In the economically less favoured B-countries, individual members may choose to reduce their fee by up to half.

Individual Members
Anyone who possesses appropriate structural engineering knowledge and who is willing to support the Association's objectives may become an individual Member of IABSE. Students may apply for individual membership too. Individual members pay the annual fee depending on their age: under 35 years of age, between 35 and 65 years, over 65 years of age.

Collective Members
Organisations with appropriate structural engineering interests, such as universities, qualified firms, libraries and public authorities, may become collective members.

IABSE Fellows
Individual Members of IABSE may apply for a Fellow Membership, thus demonstrating their special dedication to IABSE and their desire to support promising young engineers through the services of IABSE. An IABSE Fellow is entitled to all the benefits of an Individual Member.

Honorary Members
IABSE recognises the dedicated service of long-standing Members by granting them the status of Honorary Members
