IABSE Fellows
IABSE Fellows are dedicated Members of IABSE, who have accepted the Association's invitation to join as Fellows. Their generous contributions allow to support the Young Engineers Programme of IABSE (YEP). The objective of the YEP is to involve, more closely, young engineers in the activities of IABSE, thus maintaining the high level of structural engineering thanks to the contributions of tomorrow's leaders.

Since 2002, this Programme has facilitated the attendance of over 240 young engineers at the IABSE Symposia in Melbourne, Australia, Antwerp, Belgium and Shanghai, China. 140 have made personal presentations at the Symposia, which were accepted on the basis of their value as reviewed by a Scientific Committee.

The IABSE Fellowship is a good opportunity to actively support promising young engineers through IABSE services. IABSE Fellows are entitled to all individual member benefits.

An applicant should fulfill the following criteria:

  • have been an IABSE Individual Member for more than 8 years
  • be at least 45 years of age
  • be, or have been, a member of an IABSE Committee and/or have published and article in an IABSE Publication
  • hold, or have held, a position of responsibility and contributed significantly to the profession on a national or international level.
