The IABSE Committees are described in the By-laws, with their mission and organisation. The term of office is usually four years, with one term only for the Chair and the possibility of a second term for members. Elections take place every other year at the Annual Meetings.

Call for Papers - 35th Symposium on Bridge and Structural Engineering
The Symposium 'Taller Longer Lighter', jointly organised by IABSE and IASS will be held in London, September 20-23, 2011. Authors are invited to submit their abstract to following themes and topics: Concepts and Planning; Design and Construction; Analysis and Methods; Materials and Durability; Saving Energy and Extending Life; Operation and Maintenance; Instrumentation and Monitoring.
