The Engineering Core, opened in February 2017, is a modern, expansive, inviting space that provides a dynamic mix of social and flexible learning spaces.
The University of Canterbury is New Zealand’s second oldest university It was founded in 1873 by scholars from Oxford and Cambridge Universities in 1873.
The Engineering Core is located outside of the city centre of Christchurch. You will have the option of several transport options to take you to and from the congress each day.
A regular bus service runs from the city centre to the University and will table approximately 40 – 45 minutes each way. You will be provided with more details and instructions closer to the conference.
Uber is available in Christchurch. The journey each way will take approximately 10 – 15 minutes and will cost approximately $15 NZD.
There are a couple of taxi companies operating in Christchurch. We would recommend using Blue Star Taxis who can be contacted on +64 3 3799 799.
There are a couple of app based electric scooter companies operating in Christchurch. This option
is great for getting around the city. The three companies currently operating are Lime, Flamingo and Beam.
