In order to encourage the active participation of young engineers at the Symposium, the Organising Committee and the IABSE Fellows offer a series of benefits to participants born in 1974 or later:
- A 'Young Engineers' registration fee.
- Two prizes of EUR 2000 each for two outstanding contributions, either oral or poster, authored and presented by a Young Engineer. The prizes are sponsored by the IABSE Fellows and presented at the Closing Ceremony of the Symposium.
- Free IABSE membership for the year 2010, including one year subscription to Structural Engineering International.
- Symposium Fellows badge – identifies IABSE Fellows to encourage contact and discussion between Young Engineers and the Fellows.
- YEP meeting point offers the chance for young engineers to make professional contacts.
- YEP Session 'Bridging Bridge Engineers' on Wednesday September 9, 2009, 15:30-17:30. For more information, click here.
- There will be a YEP Social Event, an opportunity for young engineers to meet up in a social atmosphere.
