MissionThe mission of WC3 is to promote the rational use of structural concrete, alone or in combination with other materials, and to improve the analysis, design, execution and maintenance of concrete structures.
Field of activity
WC 3 endeavours to disseminate knowledge through papers, workshops and seminars. Examples from recent years include:
• International Workshop on Durability of Post-Tensioning Tendons (Gent, Belgium, November 2001), IABSE in collaboration with fib, organised by Magnel Laboratory
• International Conference on Concrete in Marine Environments (Hanoi, Vietnam, October 2002), in collaboration with the Vietnam National Center for Natural Science and Technology, organised by the Institute of Mechanics
• Workshop on the Durability of Concrete Structures (Cairo, Egypt, March 2003), organised by the Egyptian Group of IABSE and the Egyptian Society of Engineers.
WC3 does not engage in specific research projects.
