IABSE Foundation for the Advancement of Structural EngineeringThe 'IABSE Foundation for the Advancement of Structural Engineering' was founded in 1993 as a non-profit, tax-exempt institution according to the Laws of the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland.
The Foundation aims to promote the IABSE objective of encouraging exchange between theory and practice, research and education, decision makers and the public. To this end the Foundation receives, raises and provides funds for special IABSE activities, education programmes and other activities consistent with the objectives of IABSE.
A priority goal of the Foundation is the transfer of technology to less developed countries through the following four actions:
• Providing aid to selected universities
• Offering courses
• Providing books to university libraries
• Offering subscriptions to the IABSE journal. Structural Engineering International (SEI), to university libraries.
•Sponsoring or financing prizes within structural engineering and related fields.
