The International Award of Merit in Structural Engineering
for outstanding contributions in the field of structural engineering, with special reference to usefulness for society. Fields of endeavour may include: planning, design, construction, materials, equipment, education, research, government, management. The first Award was presented in 1976.

The IABSE Prize
was established to honour a member early in his or her career for an outstanding achievement in structural engineering. The Award is conferred on an individual member, forty years of age or younger. The first IABSE Prize was presented in 1983.

The Outstanding Paper Award
The Outstanding Paper Award is remitted each year to the author(s) of a paper published in the preceeding year's issues of the IABSE Journal Structural Engineering International,  thus encouraging and rewarding journal contributions of the highest quality. The first Outstanding Paper Award was presented in 1991.

The Outstanding Structure Award
recognises the most remarkable, innovative, creative, or otherwise stimulating structures completed within the last few years or mostly completed at the award ceremony. It consists of a Diploma each for the Engineer, the Architect, the Contractor, and the Owner, as well as a plaque to be fixed to the winning structure. The Outstanding Structure Award is presented at irregular intervals by IABSE.
