Chep Uytiepo – Executive Director of IABSE
IABSE is pleased to announce that Chep Uytiepo assumed office as Executive Director of IABSE on December 14, 2015.
Chep Uytiepo graduated in 1986 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Adamson University in the Philippines. After his studies he worked for sales and manufacturing companies. Prior to moving to Switzerland in 1998, he was an entrepreneur running his own company. In Switzerland he acquired a MCSE and managed the Membership Department and IT for an international financial institution in Zurich for 6 years. Chep has been with IABSE for 7 years, as Assistant to the Executive Director and latterly as Acting Director. As a member of the Lead Team, Chep has been involved in the organisation of the recent new style and innovative IABSE Conference in Geneva.
The International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) founded in 1929, operates on a worldwide basis and deals with all aspects of planning, design, construction, maintenance and repair of civil engineering structures. The mission of IABSE is to exchange knowledge and to advance the practice of structural engineering worldwide in the service of the profession and society. To fulfil its mission, IABSE organises conferences and publishes a high quality journal, Structural Engineering International (SEI); publishes books reflecting the work of its Technical Groups; creates Working Groups, as required by new needs and technological progress; offers activities within National Groups of IABSE; supports Young Engineers with a programme, and presents annual Awards in recognition.
