Preliminary Invitation and Call for Papers

IABSE Conference Copenhagen 2018
‘Engineering the Past, to Meet the Needs of the Future’
June 25-27, 2018

Management of bridges and other civil engineering structures involves significant expenditures, and at a time of constrained public resources, it requires difficult decisions to prioritise for operation and maintenance. Every day engineers, researchers and public and private agencies strive to make decisions, which are efficient with due respect of reliability, availability, safety, health, economy and environmental aspects. Latest advances in technology and experience from operation and maintenance of bridges and other civil engineering structures should be shared to enable engineers, researchers and public and private agencies to plan ahead.

This conference is organised by the Danish Group of IABSE in co-operation with the Technical University of Denmark. The objective is to provide a forum for owners, operators, designers, researchers, contractors and suppliers to meet, discuss and exchange ideas and experiences within the topics of operation and maintenance of bridges and other civil engineering structures.

The scientific programme will include plenary sessions, concurrent technical sessions and poster sessions. Invited keynote speakers will present lectures on significant topics related to operation and maintenance of bridges and other civil engineering structures.
