Preliminary Invitation and Call for Papers: IABSE Congress Christchurch 2020

Resilient Technologies for Sustainable Infrastructures

The IABSE Congress 2020 ‘Resilient Technologies for Sustainable Infrastructures’ will be held in Christchurch, New Zealand, from 2-4 September, 2020, at the University of Canterbury. The IABSE Annual Meetings will take place prior to the Congress from 31 August - 1 September, 2020. The Organisers are now inviting abstract submissions to the congress theme and topics.

Topics
The Congress is intended to provide the latest in technology and practice to enable structural engineers to design resilient and sustainable structures. The theme ‘Resilient Technologies for Sustainable Infrastructures’ will be reflected in the technical papers and invited presentations, which will be underpinned by the following topics:

  - Earthquake engineering
  - Developments of codes and standards
  - Bridge engineering
  - Multi-storey buildings
  - Durability
  - Rehabilitation and modification of structures
  - Forensic engineering
  - Sustainability
  - Performance-based fire engineering
  - Digital technology and fabrication
  - Innovative forms, technologies and materials
  - Performance under multi-hazards

Submission of Abstracts
Authors wishing to present a paper are invited to submit an abstract online by October 15, 2019, via the submission link on the congress website. The Scientific Committee will review all submitted abstracts for acceptance as either an oral or poster presentation. Authors of accepted papers are expected to register and attend the Congress. The congress proceedings will be available in electronic format (ePDF via link) at the beginning of the Congress.
