The Oresund bridge is the only fixed link between Sweden and Denmark. It´s 16 km long consisting of 8 km bridge (high bridge is Cable stayed), 4 km artificial island and a 4 km imerged tunnel.
The Øresundsbron Konsortiet is owned 50% of Denmark and Sweden each. The project was financed by loans, which are to be paid back through road tolling and railway fees.
It was opened for rialway and motorway traffic in July 2000.
